Team fundraising for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide

Raising money for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide
In memory of Jamie Blackwood

PAPYRUS is the national charity for the prevention of young suicide. We run HOPELINE247 0800 068 4141 a freephone confidential helpline staffed by trained professionals who give advice, support & information to anyone who is feeling suicidal, or concerned that a young person they know may be at risk

Story

In September 2023 we lost our Jamie through suicide. If you met Jamie, you would know that to know him was to love him. He was the most bubbly, outgoing, generous man you would meet. He’d have talked to a brick wall if it could talk back and could bargain with any man for a lower price on a car, bike, jet ski you name it.

However, Jamie struggled with his mental health tremendously. Our aim is to raise awareness on the effects of suicide on the family and friends and show those with suicidal thoughts that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel🩵

We have already completed a sponsored Stairway to Heaven walk, a charity blowdry day and we also have a fundraiser night in Lisburn rugby club on the 20th of April. We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity in a bid to stop this happening to any other family or any other young person struggling. Thank you for your help🩵

Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, every year over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247.

Every £5 raised can contribute towards a life-saving contact to HOPELINE247. Your donations really are lifesaving, thank you.
