JCFC's (James College Football Club) fundraising for Grief Encounter

Raising money for Grief Encounter

Altra Yorkshire Marathon 2026 · 18 October 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Grief Encounter aims to relieve the emotional distress of bereaved children, young people and their families. We help by developing and promoting resources and by raising public awareness of bereavement issues for children. No-one can wave a magic wand but Grief Encounter can help the journey.

Story

James College Football Club (JCFC) has always been more than just a football team. It is a community built around friendships, support, and looking after each other — both on and off the pitch.

For several years, JCFC has proudly supported Grief Encounter, raising money and awareness for a charity that provides support to children and young people who have experienced bereavement. Over the years, many players have come and gone through the club, but the impact Grief Encounter has had on members of our community has remained incredibly meaningful.

The work Grief Encounter does gives people the support, understanding, and guidance they need during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. It is a cause that has resonated deeply with many within JCFC, and we are proud to continue fundraising for a charity that has helped so many.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps Grief Encounter continue providing vital support. From all of us at JCFC — past, present, and future — thank you for helping us give back to a charity that means so much to our club.
