Event: Purple Wave 2023 in the Great Manchester Run, from 1 March 2023 to 21 May 2023
One in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives. Here at Manchester, we're tackling the disease from all angles. Help us deliver life-saving research in Manchester's brand-new cancer research centre.

Story

This year we will be putting on our training shoes and taking part in the Purple Wave, to support Manchester cancer research.

We started running on our lunch break in January and doing 2 or 3km at a time but are now reaching 7 and 8km so have decided to put our training to good use and raise money by doing the Manchester 10k.

We all know someone whose life has been changed by cancer. Thats why researchers in Manchester are working hard to improve how cancer is treated and help more patients with cancer get back to normal life.

A brand-new cancer centre will be opening soon. Designed to speed up research progress, itll be a world-class centre bringing new hope to people with cancer.

Well help complete the new building, so scientists can move in as soon as possible. And, once its open, well support the amazing research that will take place there.

Cancer will affect one in two of us but with our help, Manchester can create a happier, healthier future for all.

Please join us in supporting Manchesters cancer research by sponsoring us today!
