Raising money for The Brain Charity

One in six people has a neurological condition - and more need our help than ever. This December, The Brain Charity is asking people from all over the UK to organise a sponsored virtual or covid-safe activity or event themed around the number six.

Story

Covid-19 has seen The Brain Charity, where we both work, forced to cancel multiple flagship fundraising events - including its annual Snow Ball.

But at the same time, our staff have faced a 70% rise in referrals to our services this year - due to the neurological complications of Covid-19, increased mental health issues and social isolation caused by social distancing and shielding and a bleak unemployment landscape. More people with neurological conditions need help than ever before, so this December The Brain Charity needs your support.

We are running to support the Sixmas fundraising campaign because one in six people have a neurological condition. Two (very!) amateur but keen runners, we are aiming to run 60 miles in a month (equivalent to 22 laps of Sefton Park) to raise at least £160 for The Brain Charity.

We'll be tracking out progress on Strava, and keep an eye on this page for updates! You can also follow The Brain Charity at the links below.
