Story
We're cycling John O'Groats to Land's End over 16 days to challenge ourselves and raise funds for Alzheimer's society.
As many of you know Grahame ran JOGLE a few years ago and it was incredible raising funds for prostate cancer, Emma casually said she would like to do the same one day and one thing led to another as I said don't be stupid you can't run it but we could cycle it! It's something I've always wanted to do but never thought I would be fit enough or my knees would hold up. So with e bikes and a lot of determination we are attempting it together - Emma just 20 year old and never having done anything like it and me old enough to know better really, but if not now then when!
We will be supported by Grahame and Jason in the car stopping at B&Bs along the way. The total mileage is just under 1,000 miles so we will average around 65 miles a day. With the ebikes it helps on the hills but these bikes are heavy and you don't get the speed of a nice light road bike so it will be tough.
We wanted to use the opportunity to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society as so many people are affected by this every day.
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
