Story
⚰️ Liver disease is the third biggest cause of death in working age people in the UK – and is the only big killer disease where the number of deaths continue to rise.
🪦 In the UK there are more than 11,000 deaths each year due to liver disease.
🏥 Three quarters of people with liver disease are diagnosed in hospital as an emergency by which point there is often no treatment or option for intervention.
🥺 Only 12% of people diagnosed with primary liver cancer survive for more than five years.
🩺 1 in 10 people who had a liver scan showed signs of liver disease.
✋ Last year the waiting list for liver transplants was the greatest it’s ever been*
This charity are such an incredible source of support and help for children, adults and their families, which is why we are taking on the challenge to complete 874 miles throughout July, August and September, to raise much needed funds for them.
If you can please spare some pennies this will help tremendously to support children and adults with liver disease and liver cancer, raising awareness, improving early detection and enabling better outcomes.
Together, one step at a time, we can go the distance for liver health!
