On Saturday 5th October 2024, parents of kids at John Betts Primary School in Hammersmith will be cycling from London to Brighton to raise money to ensure all year 6 children, no matter their circumstance, are able to attend their leavers PGL Camp trip.

Why are we doing it?...

At the end of year 6, after their final primary school exams, a week-long residential trip is organised for the children. The trip takes them out of the city for a week-long adventure, exposing them to the countryside, helping them build resilience away from home, and is generally also just great fun!

Contributions to this fundraising initiative will ensure that every year 6 boy and girl will be able to attend this trip.

Sums raised will also be used to ensure that all students get their John Betts commemorative year books and leavers’ hoodies, which are always worn proudly.

The Route - over 100km including the infamous Devils Dyke!!

✨The time has come. Training is complete. The stage has been set and the JB JoyRide Team is ready for action.✨

🥁Protean bars are packed and Garmin’s locked and loaded. In the morning Lycra shall be donned, helmets strapped, and steeds mounted 🚴‍♂🚴🚴‍♂🚴🦄 as we champions of John Betts set off to do battle 🤺with the road 🚦⚠ and the elements ⛈💨on the 100km plus route to Brighton that includes over 1000m 🥵of ascent, to raise money for the kids of John Betts, the greatest Primary School in Hammersmith, nay, in the world!

But there is still more to this tale of champions, for some will (for the pleasure of the crowd and a small sum of your gold💰) attempt the return journey on the same day, a total adventure of over 200km and 2000m of climb!!! 🥵🥵🥵
