Story
My dad got me into running when I was a kid. It has had a massively positive impact on my life from competitive athletics in my teens and 20s as a middle distance runner, my job as a Sports Medicine doctor, the shared experiences and adventures over the years, and the many friends I've made through involvement in the sport. I have wanted to run the New York Marathon for many years after hearing stories from many athletes about what a special experience it is.
These are two great charities who I am raising money for. Any donation at all would be hugely appreciated.
Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is the world's leading medical humanitarian aid organisation. We provide emergency assistance to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics and natural or man-made disasters, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. We work in over 70 countries and go to the places where others cannot or choose not to go.
Access Sport believes that no one should be excluded from the transformational benefits of community sport. We make inclusion the norm by tackling the access barriers faced by disadvantaged and disabled children and young people, focussing on the causes of exclusion not just the symptoms. We train, equip and support community sports clubs, organisations and volunteers to provide inclusive sport & physical activity, unleashing their potential to transform the lives of underserved young people in their local communities.
