This Year Our Family has experienced the horrendous effects of MND and Cancer so I have decided to raise money for Young Lives Vs Cancer and My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.

MND:

This year a close member of my family experienced the devasting consequences of Motor Neurone Disease after her father was diagnosed in January and taken from her in May.

CANCER:

Earlier this year, my girlfriend's 4-year-old nephew was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. It has staggered me how quickly and ruthlessly it has been and I am astonished by the strength that a 4-year-old and his family have had to muster to make it from day to day to continue the fight and never give up.

MND and Cancer are cruel and relentless and I want to raise awareness and help fund the support and research that is so desperately needed for both.

My endurance adventures will include:

* Cycling 100km from my house to the top of Tourmalet, running to the top of Pic du Midi de Bigorre and then cycling home all in the daylight of the year's longest day.

* Running the 120km trail around Andorra

* Running 16 marathons in 14 days so I can reach the "500 marathon milestone" in just one decade.

The Foundation is committed to helping improve the lives of those affected by Motor Neuron Disease. We help to fund grants, giving considerable sums to our friends at MND Association and MND Scotland to administer to individuals and families living with MND.
