Walking on Sunshine

Raising money for Alzheimer's Society

Trek26 Suffolk Coast - 26 miles · 3 August 2024 ·

Explore the beauty of the Suffolk Coast. Trek for loved ones, and raise money so together we can provide help and hope to people affected by dementia.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.

This is our third marathon. This year’s challenge is 26 miles along the Suffolk coast to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. We’ve called our team Walking on Sunshine - a reference to the Sunshine Cafe in Reepham, a place where people with memory loss and their carers can meet twice a month. The Sunshine Cafe meets at St Michaels on the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 10 to 12. Activities offered include seated Pilates, music, memorabilia, board games and conversation. Refreshments are provided and there is no charge.
