Raising money for Level Water

Hurly Burly 2025
Campaign by Level Water (RCN 1151510)
The whole swim takes place on a fast incoming tide that works like a bore to assist your swim. Past the narrows the water speeds up further, and the landscape becomes pastoral, the banks closer to you. Runners will run alongside the estuary on a flat

Story

Keith and daughter Jo are swimming 10km UP the the tempestuous Afon Mawddach in September 2025. That's 10,000 m!

Whilst doing this we are raising money so children with disabilities can enjoy the water as much as we do.

Level Water use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. They are already helping over 1000 children to swim at 300 locations around the UK. But there is a waiting list of 4000 children wanting to experience the joy of swimming which is why I am raising money.

We have swum a 10km swimming marathon before but that was in a calm river Dart. It was a 3 hour swim for Keith and at the limit of his range. The Avon Mawddach 10k swim is called the Hurly Burly because it a difficult turbulent / rough water swim starting in the sea at Barmouth.

Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water. Please support us in this epic challenge by donating.
