Story
On 27th June, the four of us – Louise, Kat, Vilde and Anne – aka the Kennington Kippers (questionable name choice, we’re aware… ☠️🐟) – will be attempting to swim from Bournemouth to Boscombe Pier in support of the British Heart Foundation.
Now, a few key facts:
- Two of us have swum in open water before… a long time ago
- Two of us (Louise and Vilde 👀) are complete sea-swim newbies
- All of us thought this sounded like a great idea at the time
So yes – this is going to be a challenge. There may be cold water, questionable technique, and a fair amount of “why did we sign up for this?” along the way. But we’re excited, slightly nervous, and determined to give it our best shot and (hopefully) make it to the finish in one piece… like four slightly bewildered kippers.
We’re doing this for the British Heart Foundation – an incredible charity funding lifesaving research and helping people live longer, healthier lives.
If you’d like to support us (and help motivate us to keep swimming when it gets tough!), we’d be so grateful for any donation – big or small.
Thank you for backing our slightly mad adventure 💙
