Pony trek over Mount Everest for St Michaels The Hospice

Raising money for St Michael's Hospice (Hastings and Rother)

St Michael’s Hospice is heavily dependent on the generosity of local individuals, companies, groups and trusts. Did you know it costs around £9.2 million per year to provide our Hospice services? Please support our vital work.

Story

Due to Covid 19,The Rye and District Show did not happen in 2020 and will not happen in 2021. It was a huge fund raiser for the St Michael's Hospice and the day was one of the biggest annual fund raising events for The Hospice.

The Rye District Show provided a fun day out for the family and was a prominent date in the diary for all who lived in the area. For many children whose highlight was the Horse & Pony show it has been a huge disappointment for them but they also know how important the Hospice is to many of us. Therefore the kids have decided to take on the fund raising themselves.

The children are great friends and came up with the idea themselves to climb over Mount Everest on their ponies! It seems fitting that the weather has come to support them, with the snow and arctic winds to really make them feel like they are climbing the real thing!!

The distance is 11 miles in total to climb and descend Mount Everest. The children will log their climbs on either this page or their own page.

The children are SO passionate about this sponsorship as they have all been affected by cancer through close family members and friends. They understand the huge importance of the work that St Michael's Hospice carries out in the area they live in. Of course, they are super excited about climbing up and over Mount Evert on their best friends, their ponies, but mostly they are passionate about this fundraiser for the money it will raise!

PLEASE HELP SUPPORT THE HOSPICE AND THE CHILDREN IN THEIR PLIGHT! We all really really appreciate all your generosity.
