Alsager Lads Climbing Kilimanjaro

Raising money for Glow

Glow is the catalyst for change in our community. We’re working to systematically impact the way our region and our sector addresses abusive relationships. Everything we do is driven by a deep desire to change the future of relationships for the better. This is the start of something great.

Story

A few lads from Alsager and a good friend have decided to climb Kilimanjaro.

12 Months ago, we decided to implement some adventure into our lives and improve our health and mental wellbeing at the same time. As always, we don’t do things by halves and over a few beers we decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro (the biggest free-standing mountain in the world!). Like everyone, we’ve all experienced some challenges through life, so we wanted to raise some money for charities in the process.

We’ve spent the past 8 months training which started with little walks (to keep us out of the pub) and this progressed onto mountain walks. Once our knowledge and confidence improved, we tackled ridge edge walks (and could have died in the process).

We’ve chosen 3 charities which mean a lot to us and by clicking their logo, you can read about the amazing work they do. Then click DONATE below this bio for the appropriate link. If you don’t have a specific preference, please consider donating to the smaller local charities whose services rely heavily on charity contributions like yours.

Thanks to everyone who joins us, and we hope our little adventure inspires others in the process. #Mountainsforthemind
