Story
Many children are leaving primary school unable to read to the expected level - 1 in 4 children in 2018. If a child is unable to read well they will struggle to benefit from their secondary education and many will find it hard to participate fully in the adult world. Everything from reading a medicine packet to completing job application forms can be a challenge. Schoolreaders provides volunteers to primary schools to give one-to-one reading support to address this problem. We want every child to be able to get the most out of books, and life.
Kindred has been supporting Schoolreaders for the last three years, and the whole team is excited to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic charity, which plays such an important role in improving children's literacy.
