Raising money for Marie Curie

KPMG UK
Campaign by Marie Curie (RCN 207994 (England & Wales) and SC038731 (Scotland))
KPMG are proud to be raising vital funds for Marie Curie. Everything we do, from bake sales to cycles to quiz nights, every pound we raise, will support people across the UK affected by terminal illness.

Story

Earlier this year we've set on completing the iconic LEJOG cycle ride - Land's End to John O'Groats - a distance of roughly 1,600km in 10 days. This big adventure is now scheduled for 2024, allowing us to recruit more cycling enthusiasts.

But here and now in 2023 we are looking to cycle the same distance over several weekend sportives.

Our goal is to support the incredible work Marie Curie is doing in helping terminally ill and their loved ones.

Each of us is affected by the death of a loved one and experiences the pain of bereavement. Marie Curie, believe that everyone regardless of their background should have the same level of care, support and guidance whatever terminal illness they are facing.

Watch this space as we cycle our way around the UK and check for progress against us riding the 1,600km before the end of the year

Every penny, every pound raised will help those who need it most at the most difficult of times

We want to raise £1,600 - that's a £1 per km cycled uphill and down, through wind, rain and shine. We're not seasoned cyclists - well, not all of us - so this is going to be hard work. But if we can raise the funds it'll be worth the aching legs, sore backsides and scruffy windswept hair.

*** Update 02/07: So far we've ridden 938km across the Chilterns, around the South Downs and up and down (it felt mostly up) Hampshire. We have about another 660km to go and your continued support is much appreciated 👏 and the fund raising continues ***

*** Update 27/07: 😁 We made it! We've hit £1,600! 👏 A huge, huge, thank-you to everyone who's supported us and contributed - your support and your donations mean so much to us individually and also to Marie Curie.

*** Update 29/08 - Another 370km down! So just 290km to go before we have collectively cycled the 1,600 km that is Land's End to John O'Groats. Last weekend a group of us completed the Richmond Park to Windsor and back ride ( big thank you 👏 to Kaja for organising the ride)

*** Update 20/09 - ✨We've done it! ✨ Collectively the team have cycled the 1,600km that separates Land's End from John O'Groats.

In fact the team have cycled more than 1,700km and in doing so have raised over £2,000 for Marie Curie. A hilly Peak District, a circuit of the Isle of Wight and a very wet and windy ride around the New Forest have completed our rides.

A huge, heartfelt thank you from us all (Dean, Kaja, Charles, Richard, John and me) for the support and the donations - they all make a difference
