Story
Our family lost a husband, dad, grandad, brother, uncle, and friend in 2004 after our Dad lost his long battle with his mental health and ended his life. This understandably significantly impacted our family, as even back then the stigma around suicide made it feel difficult for us to share our grief with others.
Thankfully our family is incredibly strong and close, we had each other and memorable friends who supported us and still do! We speak about our dad daily but we don’t often speak about our story. This story has shaped us to become the strong, resilient, empathic people we are today. As a tribute to our fun, loving, goofy Dad David Ancian we are completing a 30k trek in the Peak District (trek for tomorrow) to help raise awareness and money to an incredible charity CALM- campaign against living miserably who are a suicide prevention charity.
This isn’t a walk in the park - it’s a life-changing (and life-saving) trek that takes in highs, lows and everything in between. So if you could spare a couple of quid to support us and this incredibly emotional challenge we would really appreciate your support.
Although Lauren and I are the ones completing this challenge, we will have the support from our truly incredible, inspirational Mum Val and our amazing siblings Allan & Jannine to keep us going from a far!
Thank you for taking the time to read part of our story and we hope we make our Dad proud!
