On what would have been Kay’s birthday and inspired by her battle with Brain Cancer, we are launching our Just Giving page to raise much needed funds for Brain Tumour Research.

Our band of brothers, sisters, cousins & friends are taking on the Lake District Ultra Challenge on the 10th June 2023. Between us, we’re going to smash a two day 100k ultra, run a 50k one day ultra and hike a 27k quarter challenge. Clearly the Lake District is not without its hills and the full 100km will cover 2500m of ascending.

To put it bluntly, Brain Tumours kill more children and young people than any other cancer. Surprisingly brain tumour funding and research accounts for only 1% of the total spent on cancer research - these numbers just don’t add up!! What’s more only 12% of brain tumour patients survive beyond 5 years of their diagnosis. Clearly research into treatment is required to reverse this trend.

March is Brain Tumour Awareness Month… help us in the fight against this indiscriminate disease… any donation no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.
