Our story
In Laura's memory we are cycling the C2C route from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, to raise money for The Big House. We will be cycling 137 miles over 4 days, starting on June 21st. Laura was always up for a challenge and we will be channelling some of her determination as we climb those hills!
Laura was a foundation student in Musical Theatre at Trinity Laban and her biggest passion was the performing arts - it was all she'd wanted to do since she was little. She loved every minute she was at Trinity. We know that the opportunities she had in performance made her who she was. It gave her the confidence to explore the world and reach for her dreams. Supporting the inspirational work of The Big House allows us to do something to offer other young people the same opportunities, in Laura’s memory. The Big House works to transform young lives through performance, empowering care leavers and at risk young people to fulfil their potential.
The money we raise could be used to:
• Support a monthly Supper Club where young people share a home cooked meal alongside mentors from the creative industries
• Provide young people with travel/food expenses for the Open House Project, The Big House drama & life skills programme
• Help to provide resources for young people, such as laptops and filming equipment
• Buy tickets for care leavers to go and see one of The Big House shows
Cyclists and support will include: Col Keyes, Elaine Keyes, Emma Keyes, Liam Keyes, Anne Hollis, Amy Hollis, Ed Hollis, Sally Bethany, Kate Bethany, Lucy Bethany
Thank you for supporting us and remembering Laura
