Story
This October, I will be supporting a group of friends to complete a 1,785 km cycle across 6 countries climbing over 20,000 metres to raise funds for the Disability Together Charity.
The route includes a 14 degree gradient climb to overnight stay in an alpine mountain hut situated over 1700 metres above sea level. The group are hoping there is no early October Alpine snow to contend with but will get on with it in any case! You may notice in the gradient checker I have added to this page, one of our group is already worried about that particular day!
The route begins in Austria taking in parts of Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. We have already been training for the event in the UK and New Zealand to condition ourselves for the hill climbs and of course the Autumn weather we are sure will include plenty of rain.
The Disability Together Charity are a user-led charity that supports deaf and disabled people to have a voice and to live their life, their way. We would really appreciate your support with any donations you can afford to help this worthy cause.
Any donations will also be appreciated by the charity's staff who themselves have lived with the experience of disability too and so this helps them too.
The charity vision is an accessible and inclusive society for Deaf and disabled people. They are disabled people working together to promote accessibility, unlock potential, develop understanding and raise awareness in society.
