About the campaign

On August 30th, we will be running the Sydney Marathon, to support the incredible work Friends-International is doing around South-East Asia.

"Friends-International is a non-profit organization founded in Cambodia in 1994. It works to protect vulnerable children, youth, and families facing difficult situations, helping them build safe futures through access to education, skills training, family support, and pathways to safe employment.

In Siem Reap, Cambodia, many families are struggling with extreme poverty, debt, and rising living costs. These pressures often force children to drop out of school and take on unsafe work to help support their families. Friends-International responds by helping children to both return and remain in school. This includes supporting families with school registration, providing essential school materials, such as uniforms, stationary, and bags, and offering catch-up and support classes for children out of school or who have fallen behind.

Funds raised will directly support Friends-International’s school reintegration work in Siem Reap, helping 250 children return to public school and providing ongoing support for 2,300 children to continue their education."
