Story
As most of you know my husband passed away after a long battle with onset bulbar MND. He always said he was taking it the full 10 rounds and he did. He was given 2 years to live but was with us for 3 and 1/2 years.
We are all so proud of him and his mindset which kept him going.
He battled everyday and I promised him every year I/we would do something to keep raising awareness for this awful, cruel and life changing disease.
I have signed up to do the Leeds MNDA half marathon in May. I only started training about 3/4 weeks ago and nowhere near where I should be but its going well.
If Lee could spend all day in a wheelchair or stuck in bed battling this disease then I can run this.
Not only will we be remembering Lee but his sidekick and partner in crime John Woods. John showed just as much fight and determination as Lee to be here with us for as long as they could. They are and forever will be our superhero's and in John's words #fuckmnd
I have also Wayne and Jay joining me on the day and a few friends watching who will have my kids who will be cheering me on in memory of their dad.
The first £250 raise will go to the MND Association and anything after that will be going to the Cambridgeshire MNDA Branch who supported Lee and us as a family and still do.
