“Rob, Kev, Mark and Paul will ride mountain bikes, off road, from Lands End to the northern tip of Peddars Way in Norfolk. The challenge is to link many of the UK’s bridleways, tracks and permissive routes to complete the route in 5 days, unsupported, no GPS, sleeping in bivvies each night. To stay on track, they will need to complete approximately 100 miles each day, carrying everything they need, which will equate to 13-16 hours in the saddle. After necessary food breaks, the team can expect to be on the move for up to 18 hours each day.”

You may ask “Why?”. The answer is simple: It’s a challenge we are able to attempt. So many people face bigger challenges everyday due to Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. They are not privileged enough to be able to embark on an adventure like this and neither are those who must care for them continually. By pushing ourseleves we may come slightly closer to empathising with those affected by Alzheimer’s. Furthermore, we may just prompt people to donate and help fund research into this cruel disease.
