Story
Hi,
We’re Liv and Ruth, two slightly mad women from North Wales who have signed ourselves up to cycle 383km from Vietnam to Cambodia in aid of Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
On paper it sounds exciting.
In reality… it’s also terrifying.
Neither of us are professional cyclists. In fact, when we signed up, the idea of cycling that far felt completely outside our comfort zone. But sometimes the things that scare us are the things worth doing most.
We’re taking on this challenge because Alder Hey means something deeply personal to us. The hospital helped save the life of Liv’s son after he suffered a brain bleed as a child, and like so many families, we know first-hand how important their work is.
Over the next year and a half we’ll be sharing the reality of the journey:
the training,
the fundraising,
the laughs,
the breakdowns,
the sore backsides,
and probably a fair amount of chaos along the way.
We’re aiming to raise at least £8,000, and every donation, share, follow, and word of encouragement genuinely means the world to us.
If you’d like to follow the journey (and watch two women question their life choices on bicycles), you can find us here:

Thank you so much for being here and supporting us.
Liv & Ruth xx
