This summer, starting 3rd June, I’ll be running from my university in London all the way back home to Whitehaven, Cumbria: around 500 km over 10 days, which works out as 10 ultramarathons back-to-back (still not quite Russ Cook).

The challenge itself will be one of the toughest physical and mental things I’ve ever done, but the work really starts long before day one. Between now and June, training will mean early mornings, tired legs, and thousands of kilometres logged, all in preparation for putting one foot in front of the other for 10 very long days.

I’m taking this on in support of ANDYSMANSCLUB and Children With Cancer UK, two charities doing vital work in areas that affect far more people than we often realise. Whether it’s providing much needed support for men’s mental health or helping children and families facing the unimaginable, their impact is huge.

If you’re able to donate or even help out, you won’t just be supporting my race across England, you’ll be supporting causes that genuinely change lives. And if nothing else, you’ll be helping justify why I thought this was a good idea in the first place.
