Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. I am excited to share that I will be running the London Marathon on April 26, 2026, to raise funds for the Scottish Huntington's Association. This cause is deeply personal to me, as a loved one and their family are bravely facing the challenges of Huntington's Disease. Their resilience in the face of adversity has inspired me to take on this monumental challenge.
Huntington's Disease (HD) is a devastating neurodegenerative condition caused by an inherited faulty gene that progressively damages the brain. Those affected may eventually lose their ability to walk, talk, eat, drink, and care for themselves. The genetic nature of this disease means it can impact entire families, with anyone having a parent with Huntington’s facing a 50% risk of inheriting it themselves. The diagnosis of a loved one has highlighted the urgent need for awareness and support in our community.
Despite ongoing research worldwide, there is currently no way to slow or halt the progression of Huntington’s Disease. This is why your support is crucial. Together, we can spread awareness about this cruel disease and raise vital funds for the charity that provides essential services and support to families affected by HD.
I have set a target of £1,500 to help make a difference in the lives of those impacted by this condition. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure; your details are safe with them as they will never sell your information or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, your contribution goes directly to the charity—making it an efficient way to support this important cause.
Please consider making a donation today and join me in this fight against Huntington's Disease. You can find out more about the Scottish Huntington's Association here https://hdscotland.org/
