I’ve kept something to myself for a while. But now, I need as many of you behind me as possible.

On 19th April 2026, I will be running the Manchester Marathon in support of Cancer Research.

When I first signed up, I committed to running in remembrance of everyone who has faced cancer — those who have fought it, survived it, and those we have sadly lost.

Recently, however, cancer has struck much closer to home. We’ve received the heartbreaking news that a deeply loved member of my family is fighting this disease.

In the face of this pain, I refuse to let cancer define them. Instead, I’m choosing to run for them — to honour their strength, their light, and everything they mean to us.

On race day, every mile will be for you. You will be my strength when it hurts, my ray of sunshine on the darker stretches, and we will cross that finish line together in spirit.

This isn’t about sympathy. It’s about action.
