Hi, My name is Luca Dronyk and i want to challenge myself to multiple challenges throughout the year and will end with the Ironman 70.3 in Weymouth in September.

I am looking to fundraise for 2 great causes of which both mean alot and are close to my heart (excuse the pun).

British Heart Foundation

I am fundraising for british heart foundation for myself who had a busy end of 2020 into 2021. In December i went into hospital to find i had endocarditis which was unexpected which led to a full week in hospital and an additional 6 weeks with a nurse coming to my house every morning to give me my medicine which i had to me administered 24/7. It took alot of strain on all family but my wife and family were strong and supportive.

After the 6 week I went in to the hospital to assess the damage to my aortic heart valve to find i need urgent surgery to replace the valve. come april i was put into hospital for open heart surgery. i was told a mechanical heart valve was the best option due to my age etc and i accepted.

This was a tough time for my wife and family but without the support of them it would have been alot more difficult.

With the speedy work of all staff and the fantastic help i received i was mobile and feeling great. i am greatful to the constant research that british heart foundation does to identify all issues regarding what i have.

So i want to show people that not only can these things happen but you can thrive from them. All i have now is a scar down my chest which is a great reminder of how far i've come and a constant tick which i feel makes me different which im proud of :).

Prostate Cancer

I also am fund raising for Prostate cancer for my dad Michael Dronyk who has prostate cancer.

My dad got diagnosed in 2019 which hit our family hard. Once we found out we got on to finding all options available. My dad ended up going through 6 months of chemo with various of different medications and treatments.

After the chemo things were looking up and needing to keep an eye on it .

Unfortunately October of this year we seen my dads PSA numbers rise which meant he needed radio therapy to see if any progress is made which it has been which is amazing.

My dads treatments will be ongoing and without the support and services of prostate cancer and NHS we don't know what would have happened.

In Conclusion

These are 2 fantastic causes and i have the pleasure to raise money for both of them.

Hoping to raise 50% roughly for both charities as would love to share the money equally.
