Story
🚴♂️ Jake & Lucas’ 24-Hour Bikeathon Challenge 🚴♂️
On Thursday 30th October at 8:30pm, two determined 12-year-olds, Jake who plays for Tynedale RFC under 13’s and Lucas who plays for Houghton RFC under 13s and huge fans of Newcastle Redbulls will take on an incredible test of endurance — cycling non-stop for 24 hours to raise money for two causes close to their hearts:
• Newcastle Rugby Foundation 🏉
• LooseHeadz – Men’s Mental Health Charity 💙
Starting at Tynedale Rugby Club in Corbridge, the boys will pedal right through the night and into the next day, before finishing in style at half-time of the Newcastle Falcons vs Leicester Tigers match at Kingston Park on Wednesday 31st October, 8:30pm.
The Challenge
Jake and Lucas will be taking turns throughout the 24 hours — while one of them rests, the other keeps the wheels turning. It means there will always be one of them on the bike, making sure the challenge never stops until the final whistle at Kingston Park!
Why These Charities?
• The Newcastle Rugby Foundation uses the power of rugby to inspire, educate, and support young people across the North East.
• LooseHeadz is tackling the stigma around men’s mental health, funding vital projects and creating safe spaces to talk.
