Story
In Loving Memory of Lucy Janet Grant💜
As many of you know, my beautiful sister Lucy sadly passed away on 15 April 2025, only nine days after celebrating her 17th birthday, due to Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).
Lucy had been living with debilitating tonic-clonic epileptic seizures for just over a year, having been diagnosed in April 2024. Despite the immense challenges she faced, Lucy showed incredible strength and courage every single day.
As a family, her passing has left us devastated beyond words. There is a void in our hearts that can never be filled. Those who were lucky enough to know or meet Lucy will remember her as the amazing, hilarious, and caring person she was- and always will be in our hearts.
To honor Lucy’s memory, 50 of our close family and friends will be taking part in the ‘Mighty Stride’ Kiltwalk on 26 April 2026, walking from Glasgow Green to Balloch. Every step will be taken in Lucy’s name and in support of SUDEP Action, a charity that has been a great source of support for our family.
While most people with epilepsy live long and healthy lives, epilepsy remains one of the top ten causes of early death. SUDEP Action works tirelessly to prevent these tragedies by providing safety tools, supporting bereaved families, and raising awareness about the risks and realities of epilepsy.
Lucy’s courage continues to inspire us every day, and through this walk, we hope to honor her spirit, raise awareness, and help others affected by epilepsy.
💜 Forever loved, forever remembered — our wonderful Lucy. 💜
