Story
We’re bringing people and their dogs together to walk 100 km this November and raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, in loving memory of my mum, who lost her fight against cancer in 2025.
This is about more than clocking up kilometres. It’s about supporting people living with cancer, enjoying time with our dogs and doing something meaningful together.
To finish the challenge, I’m planning a community walk for our final five kilometres on Sunday 29 November, meeting at noon at Butterfly Bridge by the river in Bedford. The meetup is subject to confirmation while I check arrangements with the council, and I’ll share an update once everything is agreed.
We’ll take the month’s walks at a pace and distance that suit our dogs, putting their wellbeing before any kilometre target.
After the final walk, the idea is to enjoy a cuppa, some cake and a chance to get to know one another. You’re welcome to bring a flask of tea or coffee and homemade or shop-bought cakes for the humans. I’m also hoping to bring some homemade dog treats inspired by Luna’s favourites.
This is my first time organising something like this, and I’d love a helping hand. If you can help on the day, suggest a suitable route or share some organising experience, please get in touch through www.lunaspawpaws.com.
Whether you join the team, make a donation or simply share our page, thank you. Every bit of support means so much.
Let’s make our steps count, together.
