My name is Jackie and in April 2025 I lost my son Lyle when he was born premature at 23 weeks, he survived and fought for a strong 12 hours when he passed peacefully on my chest. This has been the hardest time of mine and my family’s life, however our time in hospital we felt very well supported and then after too. I feel the memory boxes that are available from the hospital donated by Sands really are an amazing gesture and thoughtful gift to receive and keep when you are going through such a difficult time.

This year I am looking to raise as much money and awareness as possible for Sands. Sands is the charity speaking up about pregnancy and baby loss, saving babies’ lives and supporting bereaved families. Together, we are saving babies’ lives and improving maternity safety and bereavement care. I will be taking on many different challenges throughout this year including the Glasgow Kilt Walk, climbing Ben Nevis and many other exciting fundraising activities! I will be taking on these challenges along with some good friends and family. Any donations would be gratefully appreciated by us all.
