In memory of my late father, Ken Tuffen, my mum and I are taking part in the 5K Pretty Muddy Race for Life in Milton Keynes on Saturday 6th June to help raise money for Alzheimer's and Cancer Research. Our friend Jane Best will be joining us too.

Dad, sadly passed away from prostate cancer, but had also suffered with Alzheimer's for many years. We know only too well the devastating impact these illnesses have, not only on those diagnosed, but also on the families who support and care for them.

We don't need to explain the effects of these terrible diseases, as they are sadly all to familiar to so many people. We simply want to do our bit to help raise funds for the continued research that will hopefully lead to better treatments, support and ultimately cures in the future.

This event will be a huge challenge for my 82-year-old mum. Completing 5K through mud and obstacles certainly won't be easy for her, so we would be incredibly grateful for your support and encouragement.

Any donation, no matter how small, would mean a great deal to us. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
