Story
The Kingston team is planning to join the #TeamMND in the 28km Thames Path Challenge from Putney to Hampton on 13th September to raise funds and awareness for MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association)
What is MND?
Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive condition that affects the nerves (motor neurones) in the brain and spinal cord, which control muscle activity. There are several forms of MND, with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) being the most common. In the UK, “MND” is used as an umbrella term, while in the US, “ALS” is more commonly used to describe all forms of the disease.
Why We’re Walking
We’re taking on this challenge in loving memory of our colleague and friend, Marco Ziegler, who bravely battled MND and sadly passed away on 6th April 2024. Though he is no longer with us, Marco’s kindness, dedication, and unwavering spirit continue to inspire us.
This walk is more than a challenge—it’s a tribute to Marco’s life and legacy, and a way for us to support a cause that means so much to us. All funds raised will go to MNDA, helping to advance research, provide support, and bring hope to others affected by MND.
Please donate what you can & help find a cure for this disease.
