The Martian Race – Raising Money for the NSPCC in memory of Sara Sharif
The tragic death of Sara Sharif has left Horsell and the wider community devastated. In times like this, it’s difficult to know how to respond, as some seek to remember while others may prefer to move on. This event is an opportunity to turn that grief into something meaningful, keeping Sara’s memory alive by working toward a positive cause.
The NSPCC, a leading charity dedicated to protecting children, runs a crucial campaign called Listen Up, Speak Up. This initiative offers free workshops to help community groups and businesses identify the signs of potential child abuse. These workshops are particularly valuable for staff in public-facing roles such as those in shops, hairdressers, and restaurants. The funds raised from this event will help support the delivery of these important courses throughout Surrey.
Our goal is to ensure that no other child has to endure what Sara did.
Join us for the Martian Race on Sunday, 22nd June 2025, at Horsell Common. With race distances ranging from 5km to 21km, the course offers a scenic and inclusive experience for participants of all abilities. We encourage as many people as possible to take part. You can sign up for the race here: www.martianrace.org (entry fees apply). Once registered, please join this team to securely raise sponsorship funds.
If you're unable to participate, please consider donating. Every contribution helps us make a difference in Sara’s memory.
