On Saturday 24th August we will be walking 16 miles in memory of our Marvel Janice.

In January 2024 Janice, a March Marvel, sadly passed away. Janice had been fighting an invisible battle and despite the support of her loving family, friends and teammates she could no longer see the way out.

Janice was new to cricket and joined the Marvels at the start of the 2023 season. In the space of three months, she represented the club in seven out of eleven games. A highlight had to be keeping wicket for the clubs home softball festival, which resulted in the Marvels winning all three consecutive games. Janice, also travelled to Downham Stow and Sutton to represent the club, and took part on the clubs family fun day, and was part of the team against the March Ladybirds Netball club. At the end of the season Janice’s skills and confidence had grown and was part of the hardball team, winning at home against Chippenham, she had even attended winter net training, ready for the 2024 season. Janice was kind, caring and a valuable member of the team.The Marvels 2024 season has not been the same without Janice and her beautiful smile.

As well as playing cricket, Janice was also part of TimeFly Z Flyball Team. In June, her team represented Great Britain at the Flyball World Cup in Germany. What an achievement & Janices legacy lives on. She is dearly missed by her family, friends & team mates.
