Raising money for Battersea and Hasag Asbestos Disease Support

Story

Welcome to the fundraising page in memory of Maureen Barker.

As a dog lover, and owning 4 dogs throughout her life (Roly, Oscar, Piggie and Henri) she wanted to help Battersea Dogs Home continue their tireless work to give every dog a home where they are treated with love, care and respect. Maureen rehomed Oscar from Battersea, and Roly spent a few nights in their kennels after wandering off when Maureen had gone on holiday. She thought their commitment to the welfare of each dog was outstanding and wanted to continue to support them in their quest to give every dog the best life possible.

HASAG stands for the Hampshire Asbestos Support Awareness Group and is a charity dedicated to helping people who suffer from asbestos related diseases. In the last 18 months of her life, Maureen was diagnosed with Mesothelioma, a lung cancer which only known cause is exposure to asbestos fibres. This devastating disease has no known cure and there is limited help and support for people diagnosed with this illness. HASAG raise awareness, lobby government for better treatments and care, and fundraise for research into asbestos related illnesses. Please help Maureen to help them continue their life saving work.

Please select the first team member in the name of Jane Barker to donate to HASAG and the second team member in the name of Jane Barker to donate to Battersea. All funds are paid directly to the charities, not to Jane herself.

Thank you for your kind and generous donations.
