Story
Megan Boyd (1915–2001) was a world-renowned salmon fly-tyer who lived and worked in Brora, crafting exquisite flies by hand that were prized by anglers and royalty alike - including the now HRH King Charles.
Self-taught and fiercely independent, she tied thousands of flies in her tiny cottage, blending art, skill and devotion to her craft. Awarded the British Empire Medal, Megan became a quiet legend in the world of fishing. Now, we aim to honour her legacy with a striking 5m-high sculpture at the new Brora Heritage Centre — a fitting and lasting tribute to her life, craft, and enduring connection to Brora.
