Hi, we’re sisters Michelle and Louise, running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October 2026 for Cancer Research UK. Nearly 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime which is why, alongside our brothers’ recent diagnosis, we're raising money for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.

In April 2025, after months of pain, discomfort and hospital visits our younger brother Chris, at the age of 34, was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Nearly 5,500 people are diagnosed with large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas every year in the UK (Blood Cancer UK).

After 6 rounds of chemoimmunotherapy the mass in his lymph node successfully shrank from a 15cm circumference to a ~1cm lump but was still present. After further testing and meeting the criteria, he was offered a new type of pioneering cancer treatment called CAR T-cell therapy, which he started in January 2026.

Whilst he doesn’t yet have the all clear, he is receiving the best possible treatment; treatment that is only possible due to the lifesaving research carried out by charities such as Cancer Research UK.

Neither of us are natural runners (far from it…) so this is a real challenge for us both. Please donate whatever you can, every penny counts!
