Story
Sudan is facing a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions and yet the catastrophe that is unfolding rarely makes news headlines.
After a year of war and brutality, 14 million children are in dire need of humanitarian assistance, 19 million children are out of school, and 4 million are displaced, making Sudan the largest child displacement crisis in the world.
Living conditions are appalling, with acute shortages of food and safe water. 3.7 million children are acutely malnourished, including 730,000 suffering with severe acute malnutrition.
To make matters worse, after 70-80% of hospitals ceased operation following a severe shortage of medical supplies, including lifesaving medicines, two-thirds of Sudanese people now lack access to even basic health care services.
