Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In June 2025 my Dad was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer. We were told that the cancer was aggressive and likely meant limited time remaining together. He had retired only 3-months earlier at 60.
After an immensely well fought battle, and multiple rounds of both chemo-therapy and immunotherapy, my Dad was admitted to Sobell House Hospice in December 2025.
The care, patience, and kindness he received at Sobell House was second to none. The nurses and doctors gave everything they could to keep him out of considerable pain. He passed away on 23rd December 2025.
We are running the Oxford Half marathon to raise money for Sobell House in the hope that any donation will make a difference to any families going through what my family have endured. Even if it pays for a cup of tea for somebody at a moment they need it most.
Our goal is to raise £1200 pounds to contribute towards a morphine driver; only this consistent dosage of pain relief gave my dad comfort in those final weeks. We would like to be able to do this for somebody else.
Thank you Sobell House for all you do.
