Story
Following our two successful trips, firstly cycling across England fundraising for Cancer research then the following year Canoeing across Scotland for Kids with Cancer. This year we are completing the trilogy by walking across Wales from East to West. Once again our chosen charity is a very personal one.
Marly is 6 years old and has a very rare genetic condition called Rubenstein-Taybi syndrome (RTS). Marly oozes love and happiness and enjoys music, dancing and lots of jumping! She has much love and support from her friends and family, but with her syndrome comes challenges, such as speech, language and learning difficulties, alongside struggles with cognitive and sensory processing.
The RTS Support Group is a registered charity funded almost entirely by fundraising and voluntary donations.
They exist to provide support to families and carers of people affected by RTS, raise awareness of RTS amongst the medical community and the money raised will contribute towards the RTS Support Group’s co-funding of a PhD student with Aston University to carry out research into mental health in RTS.
