In January 2023, Molly Midgley-Hellend was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, a rare and often incurable form of cancer affecting 200,000 people globally. Due to the rarity of this cancer, there’s a lack of funding meaning there’s also limited research. Therefore, long term outcomes for people living with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma tend to be poor.

Sadly our gorgeous Molly died February 2024, just one year after her initial diagnosis. Whilst undergoing harsh treatment she had the bravery and strength to use her story to raise awareness and begin fundraising.

In the first few months Molly raised over £53,000 for a small charity - Salivary Gland Cancer UK.

Then Team Molly was formed, made up of Mollys family and friends, who are still determined to continue to raise awareness and raise as much money as possible in her legacy.

Molly was looked after by an amazing team at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield. Team Molly’s efforts are now to fundraise for Weston Park and all the money on this page will be going directly to Molly’s oncologist, who can use the money to help push for better treatments & research to help increase the chances for ACC patients.

Mollys mum, Eleanor, as well as some of Molly’s close friends will be taking on Kilimanjaro in 2027 to continue our fundraising efforts.

This page, fundraising for Weston Park and getting people in the community together is how we keep her legacy alive.

We hope the work Molly started in 2023 can change lives of those in years to come.
