Story
I will be taking on 26 miles each day on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th September across beautiful Dartmouth and the Devon Coastline. Two marathon lengths; two consecutive days and most importantly... two amazing charities that mean a lot to me and have a real impact on the lives of the people they support. My trek which features lighthouses; lost villages; tranquil estuaries; rugged cliffs; beaches and stunning coastal views - starting in Dartmouth - it has it all and will take me along one of the most spectacular coastlines in England - the South West Coastal Path.
I have two registered members on this ’team’ who both happen to be me - each representing a different charity - please either donate 50% to each charity or donate to whichever one is currently trailing in my funding goal (£1500 per charity - a big total of £3000 which I hope to achieve through a mix of personal and corporate donations).
The first is The Brain Trust - a wonderful charity supporting people with Brain Cancer throughout their journey. This is an awful disease that impacts everyone involved, not just the person with cancer - the brain trust offers support to their families both during treatment and importantly after the worst happens. Please support this amazing cause with me - I will be forever grateful for your efforts.
The second is the Swindon Down Syndrome Group who support people with Down Syndrome and their families at every stage of their lives across a large part of North Wiltshire, parts of Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire - from Farringdon to Pewsey via Marlborough and Chippenham; the big hearts of the charity trustees are only sexond to the big hearts of the remarkable individuals the organisation supports - please help them to make a difference to the lives of these special individuals.
My training starts now and I will be posting updates on my Facebook and Instagram if you want to stay in touch with my progress ahead of the Big Trek event in September... thanks for taking the time to read my story - in the immortal words of Sir Bob Geldof... give us your F*****g money! He forgot to say please... so please, give us your F*****g money - it will make a huge difference! Thanks so much. X
