Story
On 4th July 2026 Ruth, Gill, Greg, Jazz and Dave of Blackwell's, Loudoun's and Montagu's regiments in the English Civil War Society will be hiking a section of Hadrian's Wall to fundraise for Marie Curie in memory of Gill and David's dad, Norman Bell.
Norman sadly passed away on 30th January 2026 after a short illness. Norman recieved the best standard of care through Marie Curie, who were able to make his final days as comfortable, dignified and well supported as possible for both Norman and his family.
Norman loved hiking in Northumberland so we think that this will be a very fitting tribute to celebrate the life of such a lovely, life loving man.

Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone. And we push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system.
Marie Curie is a charity working across the UK and we need your support to do our vital work.

We'd all like to say a massive thank you for your valuable support.
