Team fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK

Raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK
In memory of Denise Cracknell

Run Bournemouth 2024 · 13 October 2024 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Denise passed away on 15th November 2023 from pancreatic cancer that then spread to other parts of the body. She was only 38 and missed so much.

Half of those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. Unlike most other cancers survival rates have not improved. The treatment and care has been affected by the pandemic . Unfortunately the government have left pancreatic cancer behind and have not invested in the research needed. People are waiting too long to get diagnosed and often it is then in an advanced stage.

Natalie, Rich, Ian, Jo and Michelle are running 10K and Jack is running half marathon.

Jasmine and Jamie are running 1.5k.

By raising money it will go towards supporting people with pancreatic cancer and funding much needed research.
