Story
Nine firefighters from Newmarket Fire Station are coming together to take on Snowdon in support of an incredible cause, The Fire Fighters Charity.
Our team is made up of both on call and wholetime firefighters, ranging in rank from firefighter through to station manager. While we wear different badges on our shoulders, we stand side by side when it matters, and this challenge is no different.
Firefighting is more than just a job. It is physically demanding, mentally tough, and at times emotionally overwhelming. Behind every call, every incident, and every shift, there are real people dealing with real pressures, both seen and unseen.
That is where The Fire Fighters Charity plays such a vital role.
They provide lifelong support to members of the fire services community, offering help with physical rehabilitation, mental health, and general wellbeing. Whether it is helping someone recover from an injury, supporting mental health after traumatic incidents, or simply being there when things get tough, their work makes a genuine difference to firefighters and their families across the UK.
Many of us either know someone who has needed their support, or may need it ourselves one day. It is a charity that looks after its own, and we are proud to give something back.
This hike will push us physically and mentally, but it is nothing compared to the challenges many face every day. Every step we take is for those who have needed support, and for those who may need it in the future.
We would be incredibly grateful for any support you can give. Every donation, no matter the size, helps The Fire Fighters Charity continue the amazing work they do.
