Story
As a team of Nurses from NHS Forth Valley Royal Hospital, we will be taking on the Mighty Stride Kiltwalk in Edinburgh on Sunday 14th September 2025.
Sepsis Research FEAT had been our chosen charity when we signed up for this in May 2025, as this is something we deal with every day in our nursing life, and we see first hand how devastating it can be.
However recently, we suddenly lost a dear colleague and friend who passed away after a short battle with Sepsis. It has now become even more poignant that Sepsis Research is our chosen charity.
Claire was the most amazing nurse, and larger than life personality. She was loved dearly by her family, friends, work colleagues, students, patients and families. She touched the lives of so many through her work, her friendship and her ability to make everyone feel seen and cared for. Claire left a lasting impression on everyone she met and all her colleagues in Forth Valley.
Please support us in celebrating the life and legacy of this amazing person, and with this celebration, you can maximise our opportunity of providing a meaningful donation to support the ongoing work of Sepsis Research.
A fitting homage to an amazing dedicated nurse.

Sepsis Research FEAT is a registered charity (SC049399) and we are the UK’s only sepsis research charity.
Sepsis accounts for around 50,000 deaths in the UK every year - that's more than breast and bowel cancer combined.
We don't understand enough about sepsis and the biological processes that can lead to serious illness or even death. That is why we urgently need to increase funding:
- to raise awareness of sepsis
- for research: to understand the processes that lead to sepsis, to design effective treatments for it & to help save lives.
