Story
‘NJC is proud to be taking part in the London to Brighton cycle ride on 14th September in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
This cause is especially meaningful to us, as two of our riders, Mark Robinson and Gary Duplock, have personal connections to cystic fibrosis. Mark’s son, Ethan, lives with the condition, and one of Gary’s closest childhood friends, DJ, is also affected. Their experiences give us a deep appreciation for the vital impact that fundraising and research have on the lives of those with cystic fibrosis.
Joining Mark and Gary on this meaningful journey are their NJC colleagues Peter Joyce and Reuben Heppelthwaite, who are also taking on the challenge to raise awareness and funds for this incredible cause.
In the 1980s, the median life expectancy for people born with the condition was just 31 years. Thanks to major breakthroughs in research and treatment, that number has more than doubled today, individuals with cystic fibrosis can expect to live into their 60s and enjoy a far more typical quality of life.
We are now closer than ever to defeating this disease for good. Continued funding is critical to making that a reality and the entire team at NJC need your support to achieve that aim so please donate what you can as every penny count’s’.
