Raising money for Canterbury Oast Trust

Virtual London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

We support adults with learning disabilities and autism to live confident, independent lives through our accommodation services, skills training, personal development and inspiring work experiences. Our largest training project is the Rare Breeds Centre our farm visitor attraction.

Story

Back in February, a group of us decided we wanted to keep ourselves motivated to stay fit during yet another lockdown, so we decided to enter the Virtual London Marathon. When thinking about a charity to raise money for, we straightaway agreed on Canterbury Oast Trust.

Julie's brother, Chris Chappell lives within the trust and has done since he was 18. He is physically and mentally disabled and lives in a bungalow at the South of England Rare Breeds Centre. Over the last 18 months - visits have been limited, but he has coped extremely well due to the wonderful staff working within the trust. This is our way of saying thank you for everything you have done over the last 18 months and continue to do to make Chris the smiley, happy, chatty person he always is!
